JOLT SESSIONS 
Waders in the Wetlands Students put on chest or knee waders to seine for aquatic life and then bring them back to the classroom for further analysis.
Testing the Quality of Lake Texoma Students set up experiment headquarters along the Texoma shoreline where they have an  opportunity to test for salinity, alkalinity, pH, oxygen, and turbidity.
Describing DIRT! Students use GLOBE Protocols to investigate soil horizons and characterize each layer.
The Ins and Outs of Trees Students learn how to take qualitative and quantities data both on tree cookies and in the cross timbers forest.
Who Lived Here Before? (Fossil Hunt) Students take a mile long hike to our natural fossil beds to study prehistoric life from the Cretaceous Era.
Who Lives Here Now? (Animal Tracking) Using field guides students hunt for animal tracks through out the camp and use their observation skills to record data in their journals.  Students have the option to cast a mold of their findings to bring home.
The Scoop on Owl Poop Owls are an important part of the Cross Timbers food web, students learn how to look for owls in the wild and dissect high quality pellets in the classroom.
Birding on the Lake Students take a pair of birding binoculars out into the field and practice their bird watching techniques; first on our detailed bird silhouette hike and then at our outdoor bird watching site.
Weather Watch Students use GLOBE Protocols and various tools to make a variety of weather measurements; min/max temperature, humidity, rainfall, cloud cover, contrail cover…and much more.
Survival Skills Students learn the basic skills of outdoor survival including building shelters, starting campfires, and creating first aid kits.
Star Party  Enjoy a night under the stars viewing the skies with our high powered binoculars.
GPS Scavenger Hunt Working in students teams of 2-3, students use GPS Units to "hunt" for clues around Camp JOLT.
Orienteering Working in students teams of 2-3,students learn the basics of map reading using a compass while completing various courses, beginner to advanced available.
Ropes Course Team building activities designed to incorporate physical and mental challenges.
Hiking Over 10 miles of hiking trails with clear concise markers and signage.
Archery Students learn how to use a bow and arrow and practice this important hunting skill.
Rappelling Students gain a sense of self confidence by rappelling down our 60 foot sandstone wall with trained instructors.
Campfire Students can enjoy an evening of campfire stories and s'mores (several locations throughout the site are available for use)
Service Projects Students can help us keep JOLT beautiful and complete one or more service projects (See Program Director for current list of projects)
Night Hike Students venture into the night wilderness and learn how to use their "night vision" skills.
